Breaking News for NEET 2024 Aspirants: NTA Reopens Registration Window
Did you miss your chance to apply for the NEET UG 2024 exam? Don’t worry, there is a great news for you. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that they will be reopening the registration window for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [NEET (UG)] 2024.
This decision is a light of hope for many candidates who couldn’t fill out their forms due to various reasons. I have listed down all the important things that you must know about this update.

Updates:
The registration was initially scheduled from 09 February to 09 March 2024, then the registration window saw an extension up to 16th March.
Now, a few aspirants have asked NTA to reopen the application window. NTA listened to their requests and decided that these aspirants deserve another chance to apply. The NTA has now reopened the registration window.
New Registration Dates
- Opening Date: 09 April 2024
- Closing Date: 10 April 2024 (till 10:50 P.M.)
- Last Date for Fee Payment: 10 April 2024 (till 11:50 P.M.)
Keeping in mind that this is the very last chance, every aspirant who has not been able to fill out the registration form must do it now. There is a very low chance that this date will be extended, considering how close the NEET exam is.
Additionally, the NTA has also said that this is a one-time opportunity and that no further chances will be given to students who fail to register now.

How to Register
For registration, candidates can use:
- Aadhaar Card
- DigiLocker
- ABC ID
- Passport
- PAN Card
- School or any other valid Govt. Identity Card with a photograph.
It is not ensured by the NTA that every aspirant gets an opportunity to pursue their dream of becoming a healthcare professional. However, the NTA emphasizes that this reopening is a one-off event, and no further extensions will be granted.
How to Fill NEET UG 2024 Application Form?
The steps to fill out the NEET application form are as follows:
- Go to neet.ntaonline.in, which is the new NTA NEET website. Then, press the button “Fill Application Form.”
- Go through all the steps, it is very important. Only after going through all the steps click on “Proceed to Apply Online.”
- You will need to enter your name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, country, category, etc., and then you can click “Preview and Submit.” Please, check everything twice.
- After you have checked the information again, click “Next.” You will then receive an application number and password on the phone number and email address that you have used to sign up.
- Your application number and password will let you in. Then, fill out all the academic information required, like your class 10 and 12 marks, the name of the board, your roll number, etc.
- From the list of cities, pick the one you want to take the test in. You can select four cities for the test, you can also put them in the order of choice. You may not necessarily get your priority city as your allotted center.
- You need to upload scanned copies of your picture, a photo the size of a postcard, your category certificate, your disability certificate, and your Class 10 passing certificate. The files should be in the JPG or JPEG format and they shouldn’t go over the allowed data limit. Keep this ready and also keep the backup of all the important documents on your computer.
- You can use any online method to pay the application fee, like a debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or Paytm. NTA charges Rs. 1700 for general applications, Rs. 1600 for EWS/OBC applications, and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST/PwD applications.
- Get the proof page. Download it and print it out to keep for future use. Take backups of every document for safety.
Before sending in the application form, aspirants must carefully check the information at least twice, as changes cannot be made after the form has been sent in.
However, there will be a correction window too. During this, applicants can make changes to some of the areas on the application form.
Please try to make sure that everything is right during the correction window, to avoid facing any challenges in the later process due to wrong information.
After some days, the official website will list the dates and details of the correction window. Candidates who have filled out the application form can get their admit cards from the official website before the exam.
The admit card will have information about the test center, the date of the exam, the time, and how to take the test. To get entry, you must bring the admit card, a legal form of ID, a passport-size photo, and a postcard-size photo to the NEET exam centre.

Step 1: Proceed to pay the examination fee. It can be done online using a Debit/Credit card, net banking, or UPI. Some processing charges are also added and GST is added too. Overall, you will be charged a little extra than just the examination fee.
Step 2: After successful payment, a confirmation page for the application form gets generated.
Step 3: Download and save the confirmation page securely for future use and reference.
Step 4: Provide a valid phone number, email ID, and postal address with the PIN code during the application. Note these down to remember them.
Step 5: After you have submitted the form, a NEET registration 2024 number will be generated. You should carefully note down this registration number for future use.
Note: Accurate postal and contact details in the Application Form are very important. It is your responsibility to verify that all the entries are correct. No changes are allowed in the online application form after the correction window.
Candidates ensure that the provided mobile number is their own and also that it is correct, as all the communication from the NTA will be directed to this number submitted during the registration process.
The wrong mobile number or email ID can not be changed even in the correction window. Ensure you use your mobile number or your parent’s.
Use a mobile number that is active and in use. Make sure that you are also keeping these things in mind while selecting your email ID. All the updated admit cards, and results will be available on your mobile number and email ID only.
The phone number and the email ID are the most important details.
