Finally, the NEET UG 2024 exam is done. But, as students rejoice over their new found freedom, they also feel anxious about their performance. It is natural to think ‘Did I do well?’, ‘Was the people difficult for other students too?’, ‘Will I secure a good rank?’ I had the same thoughts after my NEET exam in 2021. I rushed to the internet to read about other student’s views and performances. So, I know the state of mind of aspirants during this period. It is a time of relief yet anxiety, and this anxiety does not resolve till the result date.
To give you some hope and relief, I have compiled the views of some aspirants that we talked to. In this blog, we will try to assess the difficulty level of the paper and also get an idea of the rank distribution of this year.

NEET 2024 Analysis & Difficulty Level
Most NEET aspirants said that the paper was easier than expected. It was lengthy and the Physics section was of moderate to difficult level.
But overall, it was an easy to moderate difficulty level paper.
Listen to what students have to say about the paper:
- Biology was very simple and NCERT based.
- Chemistry was simple too, except for organic chemistry. Organic chemistry posed difficulty for most aspirants.
- Section B of all four subjects was surprisingly simple.
- There were a lot of ‘Match the list’ questions which made solving the paper very easy.
- Lots of ‘Assertion-reason’ type questions were included too, these were confusing.
- Statement Based questions were time consuming too.
- The calculations required in physics made the paper lengthy.
- Overall, nothing appeared from the deleted syllabus.
- The paper was easier than the NEET UG 2023 paper.
NEET UG 2024 Exam Analysis: Students’ Reactions
As mentioned in the above list, the students had the general idea that the paper was ‘easy to moderate’ in level and the main problem was time management. Some students could not complete the paper and were thus disappointed.
The students who managed to complete their papers were more than happy. Most said that they think they might score more than 600 marks in the NEET paper. This was a matter of happiness for few but it also worried many students as an overall good performance will lead to a high number of meritorious students.
Experts also said that a rank inflation can be expected. This means that, if a student scored around 600 in 2023 and got an All India Rank of 15000, this year, his rank at 600 might be 18000 or so. This will make it difficult for average scorers to get seats in government medical colleges.

Closing Note
Now that NEET 2024 is officially done, I would advise you guys to just chill out for a while. Just take your time and learn something new till the results are out. Trust me when I say that you do not get a break once you join a medical course. So, make the most of this free time. Pick up a new hobby.
And for all the students who are worried that they did not perform well, I would ask you to chill out too. Just compose yourself and try to understand your feelings for a few days. Try to understand if you want to give it another year or if you want to move ahead with another course. Try to understand that there is not shame in being a dropper, but then again, there is no shame in leaving the idea of medicine and pursuing another course too. The choice is all yours.
For now, All the Best for all that your future holds.
